Suspension of Work in Private and Government Offices August 7

Work in private and government offices in NCR, some Luzon provinces have been suspended. Malacañang has issued Memorandum Circular No. 33 at around 2 a.m. Tuesday for the suspension of work in government offices and college classes in Metro Manila and other Luzon provinces on August 7, 2012. Memorandum Circular No. 33, s. 2012 Office of the President of the Philippines Malacañang MEMORANDUM CIRCULAR NO. 33 Upon the recommendation of the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) and in view of the continuing inclement weather brought about by southwest monsoon (habagat), work in government offices and classes in college level in the National Capital Region and the provinces of Zambales, Bataan, Pampanga, Pangasinan, Tarlac, Bulacan, Laguna, Cavite, and Rizal are hereby suspended today, 07 August 2012. However, those agencies whose functions involve the delivery of basic and health services, preparedness/response to disasters and calamities, and/or the performance of other vital public services shall continue with their operations and render the necessary services. Presidential spokesperson Edwin Lacierda identified the following provinces with suspended work in private entities: Bataan Bulacan Cavite Laguna Metro Manila (NCR) Pampanga Pangasinan Rizal Tarlac Zambales The suspension of work also applies to call centers or the business process outsourcing (BPO) sector.
