The Father of Paulo Avelino is half-Spanish and half-Waray, from the influential Avelino Clan of Calbayog City, Western Samar, Mother is Jennilyn Lingbanan from Bontoc, Mountain Province.
He started when he joined the reality talent show StarStruck 4 of GMA in 2006. Although he did not win, it became his passport to many acting project with the same network. On August 15, 2011, he signed an exclusive 2-year contract with rival network ABS-CBN.
