PAGASA Weather Update August 07 2012

State weather bureau PAGASA announced updates and issued advisories relative to the Southwest Monsoon, which is enhanced by Tropical Storm “Haikui”. WEATHER ADVISORY No. 5 Issued at 11:00am, 07 August 2012 FOR: Southwest Monsoon enhanced by Tropical Storm "HAIKUI" The Southwest Monsoon enhanced by TS "HAIKUI" located 300km NE of Taiwan will continue to bring occasional to frequent rains over Luzon becoming moderate to heavy rains in the provinces of Ilocos, La Union, Pangasinan, Tarlac, Zambales, Bataan, Pampanga, Bulacan, Rizal, Cavite, Laguna, Batangas and National Capital region today until tomorrow with gradual improvement of weather condition by Thursday and onwards to the weekend. Expect landslides/flashfloods in mountainous areas and floods in low lying areas. The next update will be incorporated in the public weather forecast at 5:00PM today while the next advisory will be issued at 11:00AM tomorrow. RED WARNING SIGNAL Issued at: 11:00 AM, 07 August 2012 (Tuesday) Target Areas: Metro Manila Heavy to Intense rainfall (16-30mm/hr) was observed over Metro Manila for the past 2 hours. Expect moderate to heavy rainfall (3-15mm/hr) with occasional heavy to intense(16-30mm/hr) within 2 hrs. Residents in high risk areas are advised to take precautionary measures and WATCH OUT for the next warning.
