King of Comedy Dolphy (Rodolfo Vera Quizon Sr. in real life) is now in critical condition, after his hemoglobin level went down. A text by his son Eric Quizon said that Dolphy is in need of B+ blood and that the actor has kidney complications. Dolphy is said to have COPD (Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disorder), which is like emphysema of the worst kind according to Dolphy's biographer Bibeth Orteza. The younger Quizon also said earlier that the doctors had to attach a respirator in order to help the King of Comedy breathe. Dolphy remains at the Intensive Care Unit of the Makati Medical Center since June 9. Reports on Twitter said Dolphy has kidney complications and needs B+ blood. Sandra Aguinaldo @sandraguinaldo tweeted: “Eric Quizon on Dolphy's condition: Critical. Hemoglobin low. He needs B+ blood. Kidney has complications.” Reports said the family of Dolphy is asking for prayers for his recovery. While Dolphy hasn't been responding verbally, the veteran comedian is said to be responding physically. "We're still hoping na makakasama pa namin siya ng matagal pa at makakapiling pa namin, Mahina na mga organs, may mga muscles na nanghihina na rin. He's been battling this since 2008, he's had pneumonia before. His lungs are very weak.", Quizon said
